Greenification in the aviation industry

In the second quarter of 2022, we conducted a LinkedIn survey & questioned our trade fairs visitors to shed some light on the industry’s expectations and predictions. The response was enormous, and we wish to thank you all for sharing your thoughts. Handlers, airlines, airports, and OEM’s gave us a balanced view of the concerns of the aviation industry regarding their greenification journey.
We are delighted to share the results:
- ‘Electricity’ will be the most likely technology to become the standard in support of greenification
- +60% saw a high risk that in the coming 3-5 years their existing Diesel fleet would be banned and be disposed of at a loss.
- ‘Lack of infrastructure’ and ‘clarity on who bears the cost’ are the main hurdles to achieving their green ambitions.
- More than half of the respondents are convinced their newly bought electrical equipment would be technologically outdated within 5 years.
- The airport & infrastructure/energy providers were perceived as most critical to have a successful outcome.
